Welcome to Shady Bottom Ranch.  We are located in Crossville, Tennessee atop the Cumberland Plateau, 110 miles east of Nashville and 75 miles west of Knoxville on I-40.

Grady Taylor started Shady Bottom Ranch in the mid-eighties.  Grady spent 20+ years developing a genetically correct herd of Red Angus cows that anyone would be proud of.

In 2007, the management changed, but not the purpose.  Our goal is produce a product that true cowmen can trust and depend upon.

We are presently breeding over 200 cows in a fall and spring group. We only use a natural sire.  Our herd genealogy is consistent with many major producers.  Our herd bulls are household names in the Red Angus industry; names such as Chateau, Major League, Becton, Julian, Lancer, Romeo Enterprise and Merger.  Our cow genealogy goes back to a lot of programs including Leachman, Buffalo Creek, Ludvigson, MontVue, G squared, Whitley, Bull Hill, Bootjack and others.
